When our fellow Texans were hit hard by recent flooding, VFW Post 8790 wasted no time springing into action.
With the support of our members, local businesses, and the greater Houston community, we filled our post with essential supplies -- everything from bottled water and hygiene items to baby products and food. What started as a few donations quickly turned into a powerful community movement.
Thanks to everyone's generosity, an entire 18-wheeler packed with donations was sent directly to Kerville, where it was received with great gratitude by VFW Post 1480. Another truck was delivered to VFW San Angelo, and our team also traveled to Burnet, TX, to help with clean-up and support efforts on the ground.
We are especially proud of Ron Castro, our VFW Post 8790 Auxiliary member, who led in organizing and coordinating this mission. His dedication and heart made it all possible.
This effort showed the true strength of our post and our community. Thank you to everyone who gave, supported, and stood with us.
